Full Name: Adil Usman Rashid
DOB: 17-02-1988, Bradford
Specialist: All-rounder
Bats: Right Hand Bat
Bowls: Right Arm Leg Spin
Major Teams: Yorkshire

Adil Rashid's supporters have been pushing for his international recognition ever since he burst onto the county scene in 2006. The dearth of high quality English spinners always places pressure on any twirlers who consistently take wickets and legbreak bowler Rashid has done plenty to add to the hype, finishing 2008 with 62 Championship wickets.

He travelled with England to India later that year to gain experience and earned a full Test squad call-up for the subsequent tour of the Caribbean. Rashid possesses excellent accuracy and is developing a decent googly, although the factor that will perhaps do most to help him secure a regular international place is his strong batting, which marks him out as a genuine allrounder.

Rashid performed well as a late call-up for the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 and is very much part of England's future in all formats.
